Capital City Cats – A Cat Fanciers Association All Breed Cat Show

July 27 - July 28


Come see over 35 different types of purebred and household pet cats compete for “top cat” in 5 different CFA judging rings throughout each day, 10 rings total.  Classes to be judged in all breeds will include Premiers, Champions, Grand Champions and Kittens! Meet Egyptian Mau, Maine Coon Cat, Persian, Siamese, Norwegian Forest Cat, Devon Rex, Cornish Rex, American Shorthair, Oriental Shorthair, and many other different CFA registered breeds. Sit and watch cats being judged in the different rings and see how CFA judging works and the process involved to select the top 10 cats for FINALS in each ring. Cats are awarded ribbons for 1st – 10th place. Walk around the show hall and visit with the cats in the benching area between judging sessions.  Check out the Agility Ring competition in the front of the show hall where cats compete in an indoor obstacle course. No matter what time you arrive you’re bound to see your favorite breed being judged since all rings judge breeds at different times during the day.

Seniors (Age 65+) & Military: $15.00

VENDORS

Shop till you drop at our at our MEOWY Mall!  Capital City Cats expects to have as many as 20-25 different vendors selling cat related products, furniture, cat trees, cat carriers and tents, supplies, art, jewelry, and more. Meet local veterinarians who specialize in cat related care. Meet with local shelters and the Loudoun Humane Society.

KIDS STUFFED ANIMAL CONTEST

Kids 5-12 can participate in our stuffed animal contest! Kids can bring a stuffed animal and enter it in our judging ring #11. A CFA judge will judge each stuffed animal as a way for kids to learn about the judging process, and the top 3 stuffed animals will receive 1st – 3rd place ribbons. All participating kids will receive a free CFA backpack! Limited to the first 45 entries each day. Contest will be held at 12:00 noon both Saturday and Sunday.

MEET AND GREET

A special selection of friendly cats will be available with representatives at the front of the show hall for spectators to meet and interact with. 

VOTE FOR CATS

Vote for your favorite cat you meet in the show hall. Stickers will be provided to place on the cages of cats you especially like. At the end of the show the owner of the cat with the most stickers will win a door prize!

RAFFLE

There will be raffles each day open to the public to participate in sponsored by various vendors for fundraising. Prizes will be on display and drawing times will be posted. The MAIN PRIZE raffle open to all spectators will be drawn on Sunday at 4 PM and participants do not have to be present to win. TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED ALONG WITH ENTRY TICKETS OR IN THE SHOW HALL

EDUCATION RING

During the course of both Saturday and Sunday Ring #11 will have Cat Education events going continuously throughout the day. Learn about Cat diseases, treatment programs, TNR Programs, and listen to representatives of local shelters talk about cat adoptions. Listen to harrowing stories of cat rescues and emergency care for cats in Northern Virginia. Learn how to protect your cat during natural disasters. Attend the BREED SHOWCASE where representatives of many of the different breeds in attendance will be showcased by a CFA judge with explanation given regarding breed characteristics and breeding. Listen to local Vets talk about diseases and treatment options for various illnesses such as FIP.

TCAL CAT ADOPTION

Come visit The CATS AT LONGSTREET (TCAL), one of Northern Virginia’s most successful cat shelters and rescue operations and care centers located in Sterling VA (https://thecatsatlongstreet.org/available-cats). Visit with cats up for adoption, talk about the adoption process with shelter representatives, find that special cat that needs a home and apply for adoption!

FOOD

A concession stand will serve daily lunch, snacks, and beverages, including beer and wine, all day both Saturday and Sunday.

Please note that dogs, other than specially trained service animals for the disabled, are not allowed in the show hall for obvious reasons.
